Head Coach of Algeria, Djamel Belmadi has listed Nigeria's Super Eagles among the team that could derailed their ambition in the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Apart from being the defending champions, Fennec are considered as one of the title contenders in the tournament.
Algeria won the competition for the second time in their history in 2019 after they won all their matches in the competition including beating Nigeria 2-1 in the semi-final.
While speaking ahead of the tournament, Belmadi said he expect tough matches right from the group stages and listed Nigeria, Mali, Tunisia, Senegal and Egypt as contenders.
"We will play all our group matches thoroughly but if we have to take out the calculator, we will.
There is no easy course during the AFCON! ", And underlines:" What is true is that we could be in difficulty from the kickoff of the AFCON. Mali, Nigeria, Tunisia or Egypt, it can look like a difficult competition already," he stated.
Algeria first won the title on home soil in 1990 beating Nigeria's Super Eagles 1-0 in the final.
