AFCON 2021: CAF Confirms Date For Sierra Leone, Benin Republic Match
By Sampson Adedeji
After much deliberations and discussions, Competition Organizing Committee of Africa soccer governing body has confirmed the match between Sierra Leone and Benin Republic for June, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The game supposed to have been played in March but due misconceptions concerning covid 19 results led to the game being delayed and later postponed indefinitely.
Lone Stars of Sierra Leone and Squirrels of Benin Republic are in the same group with Nigeria's Super Eagles who have qualified as the group leaders.
CAF on Tuesday afternoon announced that the rescheduled match will come up in June under the close watch of the football body.
Host Sierra Leone need outright win to qualify while Benin needed just a draw to pick the remaining ticket in the group.
