AFCON 2021: CAF Names Centre Referee For Nigeria, Egypt Clash

The referee council of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) continue to announce match officials for matchday one of the competition, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations will commence in Yaounde Cameroon on Sunday with the opening match between the host and Burkina Faso.
The council on Saturday evening announced Gambia Papa Malick Gassama as the centre referee for the much-awaited clash between Nigeria's Super Eagles and the Pharaoh of Egypt.
Gassama is not new to Nigeria as he was in charge in 2013 AFCON semi-final against Eagles of Mali in which Nigeria triumphed 4-1.
He was also at the centre during the 2018 World cup qualifier between Nigeria and Algeria which Nigeria won at the Goodswill Akpabio stadium 3-1.
The match against Egypt will come up on Tuesday in Garoua, 5pm Nigeria time.
