AFCON 2021: CAF Releases List Of Match Officials With One Nigerian Referee Sampson Adedeji Ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the African soccer governing body has released the list of match officials that will take the centre stage, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The list of the selected referees which was released on Tuesday evening witnessed Samuel Pwadutakam as only the Nigerian on the list. He was listed as an assistant referee while Morocco has the highest number of candidates on the list with 8. In total 64 match officials were listed, 20 will also work as Video Assistant Referee (VAR), 31 will serve as an assistant referee and 16 will work as Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR). The competition is scheduled to kick off on the 9th of January with host Cameroon facing Burkina Faso.
