AFCON 2021: Draws To Take Place In August By Sampson Adedeji African soccer governing body Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba has declared new date for the delayed 2021 African Cup Of Nations draw, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. The draw earlier slated for 25th June, 2021 was postponed due to covid-19 and some logical reasons. Mosengo-Omba who is leading some delegates to Cameroon on Tuesday confirmed that the draw will now take place between 1st and mid August 2021 in Yaounde, Cameroon. With Sierra Leone beating Benin Republic on Tuesday, the 24 qualified countries for the competition has been confirmed. The competition was earlier scheduled to come January 2021 but has now been moved to 2022 due to corona virus pandemic while the acronyms of 2021 AFCON is maintained.
