AFCON 2021: Nigeria Group Opponent Drop Star Goalkeeper Sampson Adedeji All seems not to be well in the camp of Nigeria's Super Eagles opponent, the Pharaohs of Egypt as their star goalkeeper has been dropped from the team, BSNsports.com.ng can report. According to the report from the team camp the duo of Egypt national team goalie Mohamed Abo Gabal and goalkeepers’ coach Essam El-Hadary tested positive for COVID-19, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed on Friday afternoon. "PCR tests have showed that Abo Gabal and Essam El-Hadary have tested positive for COVID-19 and they will miss the trip to Cameroon to take part in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations,” read a statement by the EFA. The EFA called the Olympic team’s goalkeeping coach Tarek Soliman to join the Pharaohs' crew as a replacement for El-Hadary. The team hasd coach Carlos Queiroz also decided not to name another goalie to replace Abo Gabal as he will instead make use of the three previously named goalkeepers, according to a statement by the EFA.
