Nigeria's Super Eagles on Wednesday came from a goal down to defeat the visitors, Benin Republic 2-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Former Sunderland forward, Sessegnon put the Squirrels ahead in the 5th minute of the group L opener before Lille striker, Victor Osimhen's strike from the spot in the 45th minute brought Nigeria back to the game.

Samuel Kalu who was substituted in 72nd minute for Moses Simon scored the decider in the 63rd minute. The visitors came close to picking a point when their efforts hit the cross bar in the 74th minute due to non-challant attitude of Eagles defense.

Meanwhile, Nigeria group L opponents, Sierra Leone, the hosts, drew 1-1 with Lesotho to place second behind the three-time African champions.
