AFCON 2021: Villareal Confirm Chukwueze Invitation Sampson Adedeji With 14 days to the kick off the 2021 African Nations Cup, Spanish La Liga side Villarreal have confirmed the invitation of Samuel Chukwueze by the Nigeria Football Federation to the 2021 tournament in Cameroon, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The football body on Saturday released the list of 28 players invited to represent the country in the competition. The flying winger has been injured for quite sometime which led to him missing some games in the AFCON qualifiers and Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers. But he has recovered in time and fit to return to the team and be part of the three-time African champions for the concluding part of the World cup qualifier. The club on Sunday confirmed via its news outlet of Chukwueze, Serge Aurier (CIV), Aissa Mandi (Algeria) and Boulaye Dia (Senegal). " Four Villarreal CF players have received the call from their national teams to play the 2021 African Cup of Nations. Samu Chukwueze (Nigeria), Aïssa Mandi (Algeria), Serge Aurier (Ivory Coast) and Boulaye Dia (Senegal) will travel these days to their respective countries to join the discipline of their teams and thus prepare for this important international tournament, which will be held from January 9 to February 6 in Cameroon," the club said.
