All seems not to be well in the camp of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon after they lost out in the semi-final of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Cameroonian lost to the Pharaohs of Egypt via penalty shootouts after they could not settle the game in 120 minutes.
It was the team skipper Vincent Abubakar who first attacked his teammates after the game.
"It's a big disappointment. Cameroon organised AFCON and was eliminated in the semi-final.
"Everyone wanted to do what they want and here is the result today, when we played collectively we do good things," he said.
Olympique Lyon attacker Toko Ekambi was first to respond: "He thinks what he wants and says what he want. I'm not going to argue about that.
"I congratulate the team, we tried to score but we couldn't but football is like that," he said.
Their former coach Claude Le Roy also knock the captain for his comments.
"He's the kind of captain you shouldn't interview after a defeat because he says nonsense. It's very clumsy. It's lack of indulgence towards his teammates," he said.
Cameroon will try not to go home empty-handed when they face Burkinafaso in the loser's final slated for Saturday .
