Nigeria's Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong has said the team will miss the services of Rangers of Scotland defender Leon Balogun, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Balogun, former Brighton Hove Albion defender was among the 28 players listed for the competition in Cameroon but was dropped due to injury.
Watford FC defender during a virtual press conference on Tuesday said the team will miss Balogun but believe that others too are equal to the task.
"We will miss Balogun, last AFCON I paired with Kenneth. Awaziem is doing fine. Starting shirt doesn't belong to anyone. We will have good competition among the players," he said.
Ekong was part of the team to the 2019 edition in Egypt and scored the winning goal against Bafana Bafana of South Africa in quarter-final.
