AFCON 2021: World League Forum Wants Players Release on January 3rd

As the African soccer governing body insisted that the 2021 African Cup of Nations must be played, clubs across Europe continue to strategise on how to make their players available for key games, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The club under the auspices of the European Clubs Association last threatened not to release players for the competition but CAF maintained that rule guiding players release for the International matches competition must adhere strictly to.
European big clubs under World league forum wrote a letter to the General Secretary of CAF Veron Mosengo insisting that players will only be released on or after the 3rd of January, 2022.
Clubs in European are already negotiating with the national team coaches and FA in order to permit them to still keep players until January.
For instance, Egypt has agreed to Liverpool proposal to still have Mo Sallah until after Chelsea clash in January 2022.
The 33rd edition of AFCON is slated to start on the 9th of January and end on 6th of February, 2022.
