AFCON 2021: Zaha Returns As Ivory Coast Announces Final Squad Sampson Adedeji Ivory Coast national team manager, Patrice Beaumelle, announced his 28-man squad competing for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to take place between 9 January 2022 and 6 February 2022 across five cities in Cameroon. The Elephants’ squad travelling to Cameroon saw the return of Premier League star, Wilfried Zaha, who missed his national team’s World Cup qualifiers last camp. The squad also included other world-class players such as Manchester United’s Eric Bailly, AC Milan’s Franck Kessié, and Arsenal’s Nicolas Pépé. The 2015 edition champions are beginning their adventure in Group E, alongside title-holders Algeria, Sierra Leone, and Equatorial Guinea.
