After a dismal outing against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, former Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has call on Nigerians to forget the outcome of the game and show more supports to the team, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
Nigeria's Super Eagles surrendered a 4 goal lead to the away side and allowed them leveled 4-4 in the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifier played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin on Friday.
The shocking result led to soccer fans across the country asking so many questions from the team handlers.
Through his social media handle, Adepoju pleaded to Nigerians forgive the team and show them love the more.
" Every game comes with its lessons and this game against Sierra Leone is one of them. A match is not won until the final whistle is blown.
Fellow Nigerians, I appeal to you that we keep supporting our dear Super Eagles and I strongly believe they will bounce back in the return leg," he wrote.
Sierra Leone will host Nigeria in the match day 4 of the competition on November 17th in Freetown.
