AFN Dissolves All Standing Committees

Athletics Federation of Nigeria on Monday dissolved all standing committees, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Acting President of the Federation, Hon. Olamide George announced that all committees except marketing committee have been dissolved.
The federation also set up a six-man investigative committee to investigate the Puma contract, the record of expenditure of major championships among others.
The committee which is headed by Barrister Afolabi Oluwole was given two weeks ultimatum to submit their findings to the federation.
Speaking with journalists at the AFN secretary in Abuja, the Acting president, Olamide George said;
"As a matter of fact, it is important to investigate the allegation being raised against the former president, Eng Ibrahim Gusua. The Board deem it fit to set up a panel to go into this matter and we are just given them two weeks to carry out the activities and report back to appropriate quarters." George told journalists.
Olamide says that the investigative panel are saddled with the responsibility to make findings on the following issues;
"To evaluate the Puma sponsorship terms of engagement, possible payment made, equipment delivered to AFN and any other.
"To evaluate the violation of the AFN constitution Article 6.6.1.4 by the president, Eng Ibrahim Shehu Gusau by calling Annual General Congress of AFN without due process. Also, to examine the records of expenditure of major championships, include but not limited to; IAAF World Championships in Doha and Qatar in 2017 and 2019 respectively and ascertain the amount approved by the federal of youth and sports development and genuineness of all payments.
"To examine and evaluate factors responsible for the viament of funds meant for payment for payment to athletes, coaches and officials allowance at international events."
The six-man investigative panel are expected to submit their report back to the federation in two weeks.
