AFN Elections: Confusion As Gusau, Okowa Emerge Presidents

Tonobok Okowa has emerged the President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the election conducted at the VIP Lounge Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
With 46 delegates in attendance, Okowa who was unopposed had 41 votes to emerge as the president while Fidelis Gadzama and Rosa Collins emerged as the first vice president and second vice president respectively. They were also elected unopposed.
Fidelis Gadzama secured 43 votes to become the 1st vice president while Rosa Collins had 42 votes.
Meanwhile in Kebbi state, Gusau was re-elected as AFN President in the election conducted earlier before the Abuja election.
Reports from the venue of the election of the board of Atheletics Federation Of Nigeria (AFN) has it that incumbent president Shehu Gusau has been re-elected has the president of the body.
In the election conducted in Kebbi State, Gusau defeated challenger Uche Muoma with 20 votes to 2 to emerge president for another 4 years.
Sunday Adeleye won the 1st Vice President position, North West Zone with 15 votes ahead of Solomon Abari who had 4 votes and Patrick Estate with 3 votes
Nneka Ikem Anibeze elected as AFN second Vice President with 13 votes out of 22.
