African Games 2019: Nigeria Face West African Counterparts In Men's Football Semifinals

Nigeria's Flying Eagles on Tuesday, 27th August will lock horns with Mali U20 national team in the semifinals of the football event at the ongoing 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The Nigeria's U20 national team finished as runners-up in group A with 5 points behind group winner Burkina Faso.

Mali, on the other hand, are group B winners, with 7 points from three games having defeated Burundi and Ghana 3-0 and 4-2 respectively in the second and last group B matches.

Flying Eagles forced group A winners, Burkina Faso to a 1-1 draw in their first group match, defeated South Africa 2-1 and drew 2-2 with the host, Morocco in their last group game on Friday.

Flying Eagles will have a tall mountain to climb on Tuesday as Mali U20 national team are the favourites going by their performances at the ongoing 2019 African Games.

The semifinal match is scheduled for Sports Center of the ASFAR, in Rabat at 1:00 pm on Tuesday.

In the other semifinal game at 5:00pm, Burkina Faso will face Senegal who also garnered 7 points from group B but Mali topped the table on superior goal different.
