African Games: Falconets Defeat Cameroon, Win Gold Medal in Women Football

Nigeria's U20 Women national team, Falconets on Thursday defeated Cameroon 3-2 on penalties to pick gold medal of women football event at the ongoing 2019 African Games in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Falconets broke 12 years jinx by picking the gold medal following goalkeeper Nnadozie spectacular performance after stopping three penalties from the five taken by the Cameroonians.

The Falconets on Monday in the semifinal had defeated the North African country Algeria 3-0 to cruise to the final.

The final match was a tough one as both were unable to score after 30 minutes extra time following their barren draw at the end of regulation time.

The Nigeria's U20 Women national team converted three penalties to outscore Cameroon who could only convert two to settle for silver medal.
