African Volleyball Championship: Coach Abdullah Praises The Team, Want More Backing From Government Sampson Adedeji After suffering a defeat to Cameroon, head coach of the Nigeria Volleyball team, Usman Abdullah has praised the players for their amazing performance in the competition, BSNsports.com.ng can report. Team Cameroon on Saturday defeated the Nigeria side 3-1 in the quarter-final of the ongoing African Volleyball championship at the Kigali Arena, Rwanda. Coach Abdullah while speaking after the game praised the players and he also implore the government to assist the team and give conducive environments for cooperate organisation who might want to venture into sports. "We lost the match but we won the game because we won the guys, we are building up confidence and in the future, you will see a team that is better than what we used to have. "It's always difficult playing against a team like Cameroon but they did their best and we just believed that the classification will be much better than it used to be." "This is my first time playing in the quarter-final after 16 years, that's an achievement and now we have to go and get a better position as far as this competition is concern. "We want the government to assist us with sponsorships so that we can take the loads from individuals. "And the government should give a conducive atmosphere to some of these organisations, so we can have more people pumping their money into sports."
