In the tournarnament’s curtain raiser DR Congo walloped Nigeria 35 points to 16 points. The team saw their first campaign after twenty-seven years go off in an expected manner as the third place team in 2018 put them to the sword. In a dominating tie, the Central Africa team overshadowed the Nigerian team in the first phase of the game by 18 to 3 points before losing at the final whistle by a 19 score margin. The Nigerian team will go against host Cameroon on Thursday in their next game.
