African Women Volleyball Championship: "My Players Were Psychologically Affected" - Nigeria Coach Sampson Adedeji After losing out to Cameroon in the third-place playoff, head coach of the Nigeria women's volleyball team, Samuel Ajayi has attributed the team defeat to psychological problems, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The women's competition in Kigali Arena has witnessed numerous crises in the past few days which led to the cancellation of the tournament by the organizer. It took the intervention of the Rwanda Sports ministry before the competition was allowed to continue. The Nigeria side on Sunday evening suffered a 3-0 defeat to Cameroon in the loser's final. The breakdown of results indicated 25-13, 35-33, and 25-13. While reacting immediately after the game, Coach Ajayi said the players were psychologically down but still commend their efforts for the fight to the end. "I commend the efforts of the girls because everyone knows what we passed through here in the last three days, a threat to our lives because of their own mistakes. "The tension was high and psychologically they were affected in this match. "I see greatness in these players if we can keep on with the momentum and make sure they were together, with good preparation every time we are having a championship, I think they will perform better than what they have done today," he said.
