Resignation Galore at Shooting Stars

Rasheed Balogun resigns as Shooting Stars GM

After a disappointing 2019 Nigeria National League Promotion Playoff, which saw Shooting Sports Club of Ibadan defeated 0-3 by Akwa Starlets, Rasheed Balogun has stepped down as the Oluyole Warriors General Manager.

Ekulekule as he's fondly called resigned after six years in charge.

"It was a difficult decision for me to take going by the strong attachment I have with the players, technical crew, backroom staff, supporters, and fans.

"I thank the Oyo State Government for giving me the opportunity to serve, I wish the club good luck in its future endeavors."

Also the duo of Shooting Stars head coach Edith Agoye and team manager Oladimeji Lawal have also resigned. Both of them took the decision after 3SC 0-3 humiliation by Akwa Starlets on Monday.

Shooting Stars lost the opportunity to pick a ticket and participate in the 2019/20 NPFL season on Monday in Asaba as they surprisingly lost 0-3. Former 3SC player, Femi Ajayi's brace ensured 3sc failed to get their promotion to the NPFL.

The result means, Akwa United are of the 20 teams that will participate in the 2019/20 NPFL season.
