Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Ahmad Ahmad and FIFA President, Gianni Infantino will meet today in Cameroon in the final match between the holders, Morocco and Mali.
Infantino-led FIFA banned Ahmad Ahmad for five years from all football related activities which automatically ruled Ahmad out to contest for CAF Presidency position but the decision was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sports and the 61-year-old Malagasy football leader last Monday returned into his office.
Infantino is one of the guests expected at the CHAN Sunday's final which marks the first official outing for Ahmad Ahmad.
On Friday, CAF Governance Commission through an official statement declared him (Ahmad) eligible to run for the re-election.
CHAN, the tournament restricted to home-based players but the matches carry full international status and count towards the monthly FIFA world rankings.
In 2019 in Egypt, Ahmad Ahmad who captained African Legends' team played against Infantino-led World legends in warm up game. There will be unease calm when both presidents meet again today in Cameroon.
Though, Ahmad still awaits CAS final ruling on March 2 on whether or not he can contest for the presidency position while the election is scheduled for March 12, 2021.
