Ahmad Arrest fallout: FIFA to carry out forensic audit on CAF books

Aftermath of CAF president Ahmad Ahmad arrest and release, World football governing body FIFA, has ordered its Audit and Compliance Committee to carry out Forensic Audit on CAF books.

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad was arrested at his hotel in Paris on Thursday and was later released same day. The reasons he was arrested still remained unknown but it might not be unconnected with the alleged corruption dealings by the football supremo.

CAF received up $10m in periodic grants from FIFA which gives them the rights to examine CAF accounts. Ahmad remained under house arrest in Paris, France.
