The Super Eagles of Nigeria came into the Group D match-day 2 match against Iceland bearing in mind that anything less than a win will see them joining the duo of Egypt and Morocco who have lost their first two games and are out of the Russia 2108 world cup.
The Super Eagles first half performances was not impressive as there was no goal attempt while their opponent Iceland had six shot at goal. It was obvious that the Eagles needed a change of pattern of play and Gernot Rorh perfectly brought that in the second half which worked out for him.
Ahmed Musa came to the rescue as he scored two second half goals to give the Super Eagles the much needed win to raise their chance of qualifying.
Before the match which was eventually won by the Eagles many Nigerians back home have lost confidence in the team
following their unimpressive performance in their game against Croatia.
At the end of the game 180 million Nigerians were happy and flood the streets in jubilation over the Super Eagles win over Iceland. They hope the Super Eagles will repeat same performance against Argentina and qualify for the second round.
