Aiteo Cup: "We Prepared For The Game" - Eguma

Head coach of the Nigeria Professional Football League Club Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, has said they prepared for the victory recorded in the Aiteo Cup match against rivals Heartland of Owerri, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
The Pride of Rivers defeated Naze Millionaires 3-1 in the third round of the 2021 Aiteo cup match played at the Enyimba international stadium in Aba on Wednesday.
Goals from Sunday Adetunji, Paul Acqua and Fortune Omoniwari were enough for Rivers United while Chijioke Akuneto netted Heartland consokatory goal.
While reacting after the game, Eguma said they were well prepared to secure a victory in game and he further said the game live up to expectations.
He said, "It was a good game, you cup games is a game of surprises but unfortunately two premiership club playing today and game live up to its billing.
"We actually prepared for this game to win because we knew it either win or lose." He continued,
When we scored the first goal we tried as much as possible to consolidate but along the line we conceded the equaliser . And at that point in time we have to restrategised and ensure that we secure maximum point.
"We were under pressure at a time in the early part of the game but we make sure that we did not concede to counter because they decided to play on a counter attack.
"We made final changes that we make to counter them and the goal came at the right time," he concluded.
