Aiteo Cup 2018: NFF yet to settle round of 32 referees indemnities

Barely 3 months after the conclusion of the 2018 Aiteo Federation Cup, the Nigeria Football Federation are still owing the referees who handled round of 32 for men category of the championship.
Further investigations by www.bsnsports.com.ng revealed that the NFF has not paid for the services of the match officials that officiated the round of 32 of the 2018 Aiteo cup of both men and women categories of the tournament.
Before the commencement of the competition, the cash for the referee was fixed as follows; centre referee, N40,000, Assistant 1and 2, N30,000 each, while 4th official was fixed for N20,000.
The match assessor suppose to get #50,000, as at the time of filling this report, all cash are still yet to be paid.
The investigation also revealed that the NFF did not pay match officials from the round of 32, to quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final match of the tournament.
Meanwhile, no one could explain the reason why the football governing body in the country is yet to pay the match officials despite securing sponsorship deals for the competition.
As economy bites hard and officials are not paid even when it is on record that Aiteo agreed the sum of N500m per year sponsorship of both men and women Federation Aiteo cup.
In 2017, NFF and Aiteo Group of company signed sponsorship deal of N2.5bn for five years.
Football pundits opined that match officials may be tempted to ask or receive a bribe from clubs which match they are to delegate over when the nation's football governing body refused to pay for their match indemnities.
Enugu Rangers emerged winner of the competition, after they defeated Kano Pillars in the final via penalty shootout.
