Aiteo Cup: Akwa Utd Coach Maikaba Rues Cup Exit

Aiteo Cup defending champions Abdu Maikaba and Akwa United were knocked out of the competition on penalties by Enugu Rangers, but the Coach did not go down without throwing punches and slinging shots. After 90 minutes the score stood at 1-1, but Akwa United went on to lose 4-2 on penalties and a disappointed Maikaba after the game expressed his anger at the Kick-off time for the game and the artificial turf. In a chat with Brila.net Maikaba lauded Enugu Rangers for the win, but insists his side’s undoing was the heat in Kano and the condition of the synthetic turf. Akwa United won the competition last season defeating Niger Tornadoes on penalties in Lagos.
