Nasarawa United went in from twice (Silas Nwankwo pen 32' & Ohanachom 64') but the fighting back spirit of Sunshine Stars saw them comeback twice including a dying minute header (Fuad 51' & Adeniji 90+4') but still went on to lose 6-5 on penalties. Nasarawa United and Bayelsa United will not face-off in the final on Sunday 8 August, 2021 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State. Bayelsa United could pick a continental ticket should they win the final and even with a loss could still be on the continent should Nasarawa United finish the league in the top three.
