By Sampson Adedeji
After securing their place in this year Aiteo Cup final at the expense of Calabar Rovers, Kano Pillars coach Ibrahim Musa has promised to erase the bad memory of last season, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The 'Sai Masu Gida' boys defeated Calabar Rovers on Thursday in the semifinal 4-2 via penalty shootout after regulation time ended 1-1.
The team coach in his reactions praised the efforts of the players, management and fans of the team.
"I thank the people of Kano and the management board, by the grace of God we are bringing the cup.
"As we lost it last year, this year is our time, it is northern derby, if you look at the team now, we played and beat Enyimba, Rangers and Lobi Stars in the Super 6. So, there is no team we cant beat.
"If not the politics of the game, we suppose to win the league and notwithstanding we played about 5 matches in the Aiteo cup.
Our fans and supporters are behind us especially the Kano state government," he stated.
Pillars suffered agonising defeat to Enugu Rangers last season after they allowed the Flying Antelope back into game despite scoring 3 early goals lead in the first stanza.
They will face Niger Tornadoes in the final of this year competition after Tornadoes defeated Rivers United 2-1.
