Aiteo Cup: Smart City Unbeat With Kano Pillars Draw, Confident Of Causing An Upset By Admin Smart city football club of Lagos Chairman, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, said his team is not afraid of their Aiteo cup opponents, Kano Pillars as they will upset them despite their huge pedigree in Nigerian football. Adeboye made this confident statement after the draws yesterday stating that football is not played by name but on the pitch. He added that their last exploits in the Aiteo cup is an added motivation for them, going into this huge clash with Pillars. "I know its going to be a very tough game, but I am confident my team can get victory against Pillars, if everything goes as planned" he said. "We know they are a good and strong side, but we are not bothered about their pedigree, because we have a group of young and talented players that can give any team a run for their money" "We have beaten big teams, like Enyimba, Shooting stars fc etc in the past tournament, so we are ready to give pillars a good game and by the special grace of God, we will come our victorious" he concluded. The Aiteo cup tournament is tentatively scheduled to kick off 27th of this month, and city are intensifying their preparations for the tournament, with the hopes of going more than the quarter finals stage, which they achieved in the last tournament.
