The hope of Nigerians to have a team at the group stage of this year CAF champions League match has finally been dashed as representative Enyimba International knocked out.

The Nigeria champions played out a goalless draw against Sudanese side Al Hilal in first leg of the competition played at the Enyimba International stadium in Aba, BSN reports

The Peoples' Elephant went to Omburdman with high hope of scaling the hurdle into the next round and was on top of the situation throughout the first stanza of the keenly contested encounter.

The Home side returned as a better side in the second half and mounted a serious pressure on former Africa champions which eventually paid off later in the game as they scored and emerged victorious 1-0.

The results ensured that Al Hilal progressed to the group stage of the competition while Enyimba dropped to the confederation cup.
