Alebiosu begs for forgiveness, promises to redeem himself against MFM
By Waheed Bibire
Kwara United striker Segun Alebiosu has expressed remorse for the penalty he missed against Sunshine Stars in Ilorin.
United had the chance to open scoring against the Akure club on Sunday when the referee awarded them a deserved penalty, but Alebiosu's effort was saved by Sunshine Stars goalie.
The lanky forward has now begged aggrieved Kwara fans who were of the thoughts that the penalty would have nailed Sunshine Stars if it was scored.
He vowed to redeem his image in Kwara United second game against MFM of Lagos on Wednesday.
"I was very sad to have missed the penalty, and I knew how angry our fans were that day, but I want them to forgive and forget the pain.
"I won't let it weigh me down because the spirit in the camp is high and I have also got the support of my teammates and coaches.
"I am ready to redeem myself and make our fans happy because we are in Lagos to beat MFM and record our first win this season, " Alebiosu explained.
Kwara United must avoid defeat against MFM on Wednesday at the Agege stadium for them to stay comfortable on the League standings.
MFM on the other hand will seek redemption against the Harmony Boys after losing their first game of the season against Enyimba.
United are currently occupying second position in Group A with 1 point, while MFM are rooted at the bottom of the table.
