UNIABUJA Sets Up Committees For 2018 Karate Championship By Amaechi Agbo The management of University of Abuja, UNIABUJA, has set up 11-man organising committee to plan for the maiden edition of ALL Nigerian Universities Karate Championship holding next month. In a release sent to Vision Sports, the University's Vice Chancellor, Prof Michael Umale Adikwu is the chairman of the committee while Dean of Students Afaairs, Prof. Otaki Alanana will serve as secretary.  The Vice Chairman of the committee is Ikediri Godwin Other members of the committee include President of Nigeria University Karate Association, Mustapha Mohammed;  Prof. Anthony Ogbebu of University of Benin; Secretary-General of Nigeria University Games Association, NUGA, B.A. Orodele, among others. The University also rolled out names of the Local Organising Committee, LOC for the championship. The 11-member LOC has Prof. Otaki Alanana as coordinator who is assisted by Mohammed Sule.  Tolu Oguntimehin will serve as the Director of Media while Amos Otse serves as the Finance committee head.  So far, 37 universities across the federation have registered to participate in the first edition of the All Nigerian Universities Karate Championship which will start on 23rd to 26th November this year. Categories to be competed for in the championship include Kata and Kumite for both men and women.
