Amusan seeks second world indoor tour win

  Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan will be gunning for her second World Indoor your win this evening at the Orlen Copernicus Cup at the Atlas Arena, Lordz Voivodeship in Poland where the tour is making its 15th stop, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The reigning African Games champion and record holder was unable to replicate her win in Metz at the Lievin event last weekend, placing fourth (7.99 seconds) in the race the top three athletes ran 7.91 seconds. This evening in Poland, the 2019 World Championship finalist in the sprint hurdles will be hoping to scale the hurdles first ahead of Jamaica’s Megan Tapper, the European champion Herman Elvira from Belarus and Germany’s Pamela Duttkiewicz. Amusan will also attempt to break compatriot, Glory Alozie’s 7.82 seconds African record. The closest the 23 year old has come to breaking the record was when she ran 7.84 seconds in Karlsruhe in January 2020.
