Anambra Election Fallout: PFAN Set Up Committee By Niyi Busari The President of Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Tijani Babangida has directed that a committee should be set up to look into the Anambra Football Association crisis, BSNSports.com.ng. This follows a letter of complaints written to the Players Union by ex-international, Chikelue Iloenyosi. "The Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria PFAN has received a letter of complaint from one of its Executive members and Former Nigerian International, Chikelue Iloenyosi alleging injustice and foul play in the events preceding the now infamous Anambra FA Elections. The president of the Association Tijani Babangida in a letter signed by the Union's Secretary General, Emmanuel Babayaro says the primary objective of setting up the committee is to look into the crisis, engage the leadership of the NFF and bring a lasting solution to the existing imbroglio. "To this end therefore, the PFAN President, Tijani Babangida (MON) has directed the constitution of a committee to look into the complaints of Iloenyosi and others with the mandate also of robustly engaging the leadership of the NFF towards acceptable solutions. In all, Justice and the rule of law must be sacrosanct. Iloenyosi condemned the injustice and foul play in the events that proceed the to Anambra State election. PFAN says the body is aware that Minister of Youth and sports Hon. Sunday Dare advised the NFF to respect their statute. The Players Union aligned with the outcome and decisions of that intervention as pronounced by honourable minister. "PFAN is also aware of the intervention by the Honorable Minister for Youths and Sports Development and remains aligned with the outcome and decisions of that intervention as pronounced by the honorable minister. While empathizing with its aggrieved members, the union remains committed towards exhausting all diplomatic, political and legal means to bring peace back to the Football Family. However, Babangida was unhappy about the role being played by the the country football body and hope they rectified the problem once and for all. "While these events saddens the union , bearing also in mind the Delta State FA elections, it remains hopeful for peaceful resolutions to put an end to this cancer destroying the Nigerian Football Fraternity."
