Anambra FA Chairman, Ifeanyi Ubah To Sponsor 5 Local Govt. FA Chairmen To 2019 AFCON

ANAMBRA FA CHAIRMAN, DR. UBAH TO SPONSOR FIVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT FA CHAIRMEN TO 2019 AFCON

Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) Chairman and 2019 Anambra South Senatorial aspirant under the platform of the Young Progressive Party, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Saturday said he will bankroll an all expensed paid trip for at least five Chairmen of Anambra Local Government Football Council to 2019 African Cup of Nations in June.

Dr. Ubah made the remarks during a meeting with Football Association board members and representatives of the 21 Local Government Football Association Chairmen held at his residence in Umuanuka, Otolo Nnewi. Dr. Ubah described the Local Government Football Association Chairmen as worthy ambassadors who have ensured that the game at the grassroot level have continued to wax strong with their programs aimed at raising the standard of the game and harnessing the talents found in the hinterlands.

In his remarks, Chairman of Chairmen of the Local Government Football Council, Mr. Afamefuna Afam thanked Dr. Ubah for his magnanimity, love and support for the game which can be seen with the existence of NPFL club FC Ifeanyi Ubah as well as the "One Family One Footballer" program. Mr Afam reiterated that the task of raising and maintaining the standards of the game is a collective responsibility. He also stated that the football stakeholders will continue to do more to ensure that the football culture in the state remains evergreen.

A CAF Extraordinary Executive Committee meeting on 9th January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal will decide the new AFCON 2019 host of the 15th June to 13th July 2019 event after Cameroon were denied the hosting right owing to construction delays and doubts over security with South Africa or Egypt expected to be named as the new host.
