Anambra FA Crisis: Minister Denies Being Under Pressure By Niyi Busari   The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare has denied the allegation making the rounds that Senator Obinna Ogba and Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, mounted pressure on him not to pronounce his verdict on the Anambra State Elections, BSNSports.com.ng can report. The Anambra State Football Association Electoral Committee having conducted a virtual election on August 2nd announced Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as the winner. The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, rejected the election results stating that they were not carried along and also relied on the letter written by the former State FA secretary, Onyedika Chijioke. Chijioke who petitioned the NFF on August 3rd a day after Ifeanyi Ubah was elected, stated that he was not part of the elections because the state government had told the FA to suspend the election due to Coronavirus.   The NFF on August 3rd (the same day they received the letter) set up a Caretaker Committee that consists of some of those who were part of the August 2nd elections. NFF carried out the action without the knowledge of electoral committee. Ifeanyi Ubah therefore, petitioned the Ministry of Sports (who oversees the affairs of the NFF) to intervene and bring a lasting solution to the elections brouhaha. He supported his claims with a 169-page well-packaged document to further prove the legitimacy of the elections. On Monday 12th October, the ministry invited both parties (Anambra State FA and the NFF) and after hearing them, he promised to come out with his verdict the following day, 13th August 2020. However, till Saturday, (5 days after), the minister of sports, Sunday Dare has not said anything on the matter. A reliable source who pleaded anonymity told BSN Sports that senator Obina Ogba and Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano had called Sunday Dare not to say anything on the matter. Sunday Dare in response to  BSN Sports chat denied the allegation saying that it is a total false. "False. Totally false." He said. Recall that Senator Obina Ogba who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Sports is also a Board Member of the NFF.
