Anthony Joshua admission increases hopes for Tyson Fury unification bout

Anthony Joshua's latest admission could boost hopes for Tyson Fury to face a heavyweight unification bout against Oleksandr Usyk in his next match, BSNSports.com.ng gathered.

AJ was long seen as the perfect challenger for Fury, with a fight agreed for Saudi Arabia last summer, but the heavyweight landscape has shifted significantly in the months since.

Fury was ordered to honour his rematch clause against Deontay Wilder, which he did last month and secured victory, while Joshua defended his belts against Usyk in September.

However, the chances of Fury vs Joshua were shattered following the London fighter's mauling at the hands of Usyk, with the Ukrainian emerging as comfortable winner.

Joshua has exercised his rematch clause with Usyk, likely to take place in the spring, which means that Fury's hopes for a unification shot will be left waiting for a few more months - or so it seemed.

The latest admission from Joshua has indicated that he'd be willing to step aside in order to see Fury vs Usyk go ahead - but the money would have to be right.

“Step aside in terms of, I don't know if that goes in line with what I morally stand for. But let me be real, I want to be known as one of the smartest businessmen as well," he told iFL TV.
