Anthony Okpotu will be sidelined for at least five months after he ruptured his Achilles tendon while in action for Moroccan club Difaa El Jadidi on Saturday.
A top source said: “Okpotu is out for several months after he ruptured his Achilles tendon in training with his club in Morocco.
“The good news is that he will not need surgery after he visited a specialist.
“He has already begun his treatment.”
NPFL hotshot Okpotu joined El Jadidi in July after he was linked with several clubs in Europe and North Africa.
The former Lobi Stars striker played a couple of matches for the Moroccan club in the CAF Champions League.
