Anthony Ujah Aims to End Goal Drought in Sunday's Bundesliga Action

The last set of Week 30 fixtures will be played in three centres with Werder Bremen, Union Berlin and Augsburg all eager to win and save themselves from possible relegation.

Union Berlin, who are only three points up the danger zone, have not won any of their four games since resumption from Covid-19 enforced break.

This must be of serious worry for Nigerian international Anthony Ujah, who has fired amiss in 19 matches of the domestic league and cup competitions.

The last time the striker found the net for his club was on November 23 when Berlin thrashed Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0.

His compatriot and teammate Suleiman Abdullahi has fared worse, his season riddled by injuries which limited him to only four appearances - three as substitute - this season. He sat on the bench all through the match when Berlin got thrashed by Mönchengladbach 4-1 last Sunday.

While Union Berlin have picked only one point from their last four games, Schalke, their visitors this afternoon, have been on a free fall losing all matches in the same period. They however are unthreatened by relegation, at least for the moment.

Another fixture with Nigerian interest is that between Augsburg and visiting FC Köln.

Likely to be in the middle of the pack for the home side is 23-year-old Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee, whose father is Nigerian and mother German. He is said to be on the radar of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.

Signing a five-year contract with Augsburg last June, he scored his first goal for the side two weeks ago when he came in in the 59th minute and delivered 17 minutes later as the team beat Schalke 3-0.

While Augsburg have a 1-1-2 showing in win-draw-loss after football action returned to Germany, their opponents Köln have drawn two and lost the other two. Unlike Augsburg however, they are presently not in danger.

Both sides ended the first leg 1-1.

In the earlier game of the day, Werder Bremen will aim at a double over Wolfsburg having won the first leg 3-2 away.

Bremen are in deep trouble being second from the bottom.
