Nigerian internationals Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo helped Rangers crush the resistance of rivals Aberdeen on Sunday with a 4-0 thrashing at the Ibrox to tighten their grip at the top of the Scottish Premiership, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A deflected long-range strike by Ryan Kent put Steven Gerrard's side in front and Kemar Roofe doubled that advantage.

Scott Arfield's shot went in off Shay Logan and James Tavernier got the hosts' fourth from spot kick.

The win, Rangers' 13th of 15 league games, signalled the Ibrox side's best start to a season in 53 years.

Former Charlton man Aribo has contributed four goals in eight games to that incredible run.

Nigerian defender Balogun has also featured in eight matches and has been a crucial part of a defence that is the meanest in Scotland.
