Nigeria's Super Eagles and Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Aribo has revealed how former England international and head coach of Rangers, Steven Gerrard influenced his style of play, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Nigeria international who joined the Gers from the English Championship side Charlton Athletic was in action on Thursday in the Europa League.
His attacking play was instrumental to Rangers 2-0 win over Brondby of Denmark in Thursday's UEFA Europa League. He has however shifted his focus to Sunday's league match against St Mirren.
"The gaffer encourages me to be more ruthless on the ball.
"Shooting and playing killer passes is what impacts games, passing sidewards doesn't impact games and it is important to be ruthless and take all the chances we get.
He always says to me I am one of the rule breakers in the team so I can carry the ball forward and aim to unlock teams.
You have to look forward to the next fixture immediately and what is next to face us. We have to focus on St Mirren," he said.
