Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle: Aubameyang at the double as resurgent Gunners impress again

Arsenal
Arsenal bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night in an English Premier League clash.  The Gunners were held to a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace last time out, but there was not be a repeat against the Magpies as goals from Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, two, and Bukayo Saka, all in the second half ensured they won. Coach Mikel Arteta was able to call on Thomas Partey, who has recovered from a niggling injury, same as Kieran Tierney, who missed the FA Cup tie against Newcastle with a minor injury. There were few clear chances in the opening half, but the match roared to life in the second. Aubameyang redeemed himself after the early miss with his fourth Premier League goal five minutes after the restart. The move started from deep within as Thomas Partey found Aubameyang on the wing, and the striker drifted comfortably before blasting it high into the net for the lead. They then doubled their lead just after the hour mark as Smith Rowe easily beat Lascelles and delivered a nice cut-back for Saka to finish with a simple tap in. The Gabon international then completed his brace late on as he tucked in a Cedric cross, even though there was a long VAR check as the officials moved to ascertain whether or not the ball had gone out. The goal was eventually allowed to stand and it ensured Arteta's side picked maximum points, which moved them to 10th on the standings on 27 points.
