Athletes protest in Akure over unpaid allowances

Athletes in the Ondo state Sports Council have staged a peaceful protest over unpaid allowances running into seventeen months.

The Athletes armed with placards with various inscriptions marched from the Oba- Adesida road to the state account general's office.

For several hours, the aggrieved protesters prevented free flow of vehicles.

Among the the protesters are athletes who represented the state at the national sports festival.

One of the athletes who is a person living with disability, Oluwasola Johnson appealed to the state government to urgently intervene in the matter
