Aubameyang, Nabby Keita, Mahrez Not Listed in BBC African Best Player Award By Admin The five nominees for the prestigious BBC African Player of the Year award were revealed on Saturday evening, and there were a few big names left out. Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah lifted the accolade in 2017 following his exploits in the Premier League and World Cup qualifiers. The Egyptian will have the chance to defend his crown after he was nominated for the 2018 edition. Salah's Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane was among the nominees after his exploits for Senegal and the Reds over the past year. The nominees list was rounded out by Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, Juventus' Medhi Benatia and Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey. However, there was no place for Riyad Mahrez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Naby Keita. Voting closes on 2 December 2018, with the final decision on the winner being revealed on 14 December 2018 on BBC World. Who do you think should win this year's award?
