Aubameyang retires from International football, as Burundi qualifies for first AFCON. By Admin Gabonese Captain and Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has announced his retirement from international football, BSNSports.com.ng understands. The skilful forward who was in action on Saturday AFCON 2019 qualifier between Burundi and Gabon was unable to deliver the required results that will qualified his nation for the finals. Gabon need a win to progress while home side Burundi that drew the first blood before Gabon leveled the game and Burundi defended stoutly to achieve a 1-1 draw and qualified for their first ever Cup of Nations. Aubameyang announced his retirement after the game and said he want to focus more on Arsenal. After representing France at the youth level, Aubameyang debuted for Gabon in 2009 and ranked up 59 caps, scoring 24 goals for the team.
