AWCON 2018: Bewarang plead for Falcons Support By Admin NFF Technical Director Bitrus Bewarang has appealed to the Nigerians to continue their unflinching support to the Super Falcons despite loosing their first match in the on going Africa Women Nations Cup holding in Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Super Falcons lost their opening match 1-0 against South Africa on Sunday. Bewarang who spoke in Asaba said the lost to the South Africans is a set back to the defending Champions, but will spur them into doubling their efforts towards winning their subsequent fixtures. He therefore appealed to all Nigerians to still believe in the team, and support them towards achieving the ultimate "agreed that the opening match lost is a set back, but it is a clarion call on the girls to double their efforts in the remaining matches. This has also shown that other African countries are caughting up with us, and we need to step up our programs". On the inability of the NFF to properly motivate the team before the tournament, the former Super Eagles Assistant Coach said: "You can give to Amaju Pinnick on his support to the team. It is known fact that the Super Falcons has dominated the African scene for almost three decades, and this has not been translated beyond the continent. "That made the President and his Board members to hire a high profile Coach for the team. The Coach's programs have always received urgent attention by the management of NFF, with exception of those submitted during the leadership crisis that evolved the football house earlier in the year."
