AWCON 2018: Falcons Pick World Cup Ticket Defeat Cameroon

Super Falcons on Tuesday were the first team to qualify for the final of the 2018 African Women Nations Cup in Ghana after beating the Lionesses of Cameroon 4-2 on penalties, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The AWCON 2018 first Semifinal game ended 0-0 at the end of 120 minutes which saw the Indomitable Lionesses dominating the proceedings.
After 120 minutes without a goal from both teams, the referee signalled for penalty shoot-out to determine the winner.
It was the first time that penalty shoot-out determine the winner between both countries.
Super Falcons will be waiting for the winners between South Africa and Mali in the second Semifinal of 2018 AWCON, the winner will face Nigeria in the final on Saturday.
Onome Ebi, Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala and Ngozi all converted their penalty kicks while Rivers Angels goalkeeper, Tochukwu saves two penalties and disallowed Cameroon to go past Nigeria to pick the final ticket.
The win means that Super Falcons have qualified for the FIFA Women World Cup in France next year.
Super Falcons have beaten the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon eleven times while Cameroon won just once in loser's final in 2012 in twelve meetings between them.
