AWCON Qualifier: Why We Invite 15 New Players For Falcons Vs Ivory Coast - Waldrum By Niyi Busari Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has said that 15 new players were invited into Super Falcons ahead of the African Women's Nations Cup tie against Cote D'Ivoire is to help the team qualify for the African Women's Nations Cup, BSNsports.com.ng can report. Waldrum added that invitation of the 15 new players provided a stronger team than they have against Ghana where Super Falcons lost 0-1 to the arch rivals. He said he's more confident and hoped that the new players will help Nigeria's Falcons fly past the Ivory Coast ladies. "I don't think we have the best team against Ghana. We didn't have our best players available. That's why we brought in some new players here to give me the opportunity to see which of them is going to help us qualify for the next qualifying round." Waldrum told Super Falcons Media Officer, Oluchi Tobechukwu. "We have the potential and decent squad for Ivory Coast than we had against Ghana." He added. "Well, what we trying to do is that I wanted to bring in some players we have been using and also bring in 14 or 15 new faces here as well that we have been tracking and monitoring. So, we are making progress for the next qualifiers and we are working towards given chance to the new players. We understand that we have to advance our game in order to be be at the Cup of Nations. So, it's very important that we put in our best performances in which we didn't do in Ghana and I think we understand the task at hand and we are going to improve in our performances. We have to do our very best to advance to the Cup of Nations." He concluded. Cote d'Ivoire stopped Nigeria from picking the Women's Olympics Games ticket and this African Women's Cup of Nations qualifier match will be a big test for the African champions, Super Falcons.
