Awful Balogun Blasted For Poor Show Against Hibernian By Omolagba Oluwayemi Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was heavily criticised following his poor display for Rangers against Hibernian on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Scottish League Champions were well beating 3-1 by Hibernian in the league cup semifinal match played at the Ibrox Stadium with Leon Balogun defensive blunder responsible for 2 goals. BBC Scotland's chief sports writer Tom English, who was at Hampden Park, launched a scathing verdict of the display of the Nigeria international after running the rule over the central defender. During his halftime remarks, Tom English said: "Martin Boyle and Kevin Nisbet have just been toying with Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun. "Balogun is having a shocker. On that form he would struggle to get a game for the local pub team. "He has been absolutely ripped apart and Goldson is not much better. He's gone from this incredible leader they had last season to looking very vulnerable," he added. Rangers were dumped out of the League Cup on Sunday, with Hibernian running out 3-1 winners in the semi-final, and Tom English has blasted their defence. Hibs found themselves 3-0 up through Martin Boyle’s hat-trick 38 minutes into the second half, and while Scott Arfield pulled one back for the Bears five minutes before half-time, it was too little, too late.
